About the Role

We are seeking casual Disability Support Workers to assist a 37-year-old male client with MND. The client is non-ambulant, communicates via eye gaze on an iPad, and requires full support with personal care, transfers, meal assistance, and mobility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with personal care, transfers, dressing, toileting, and getting to bed
  • Meal assistance and safe feeding practices
  • Supporting medication administration when next of kin is unavailable
  • Manual handling using hoist, Sara Steady, wheelchair, and other equipment
  • Promoting independence, dignity, and comfort at all times
  • Maintaining consistency of care to minimize training requirements for family

About You

To join our team, you will have:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in disability or personal support, preferably with MND or neurodegenerative conditions
  • Manual handling experience (essential)
  • Personal care experience
  • Current First Aid and CPR
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Manual Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Medication Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • WWC

You'll be a great communicator, empathetic, reliable, and able to work consistently with the same client to provide continuity of care.
