It is so important from our perspective to have a detailed understanding of behaviors, triggers, preferred environments, communication style, and comfort factors for each of our clients.
A key challenge can often be communication – we work hard to learn as much as possible from the client as well as drawing on the knowledge of family, friends, medical professionals and other people who know them well. Our care plan is person-centred and we always look at ways to support our clients to help with inclusion, community engagement, positive behaviour support, and interests to ensure our clients are healthy, safe and happy.
One of the unique strengths of Drake Medox's homecare support services is our ability to find, select and match the right staff to the people we support. Through our extensive recruitment process, initial inductions and ongoing staff development, we build a trusted team of experienced nursing and disability support staff who, not only have the right clinical skills but also the personal attributes to work with you or your loved one.
Alongside clinical support, we can provide wider support in terms of social interaction and involvement in interests and activities to help support emotional well-being and quality of life.
Our clients and families are always encouraged to be part of the recruitment process. Each disability support team is recruited based on the specific care requirements and unique needs of the client. We believe it is extremely important to build a care team that our clients feel safe around and trust.
Ultimately, our goal is to expand each person’s participation in all aspects of everyday life in a supporting and caring way. The right support makes all the difference.
