We are currently seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist on behalf of a leading specialist eye care clinic in Adelaide. This is a key patient-facing role in a fast-paced clinical environment, requiring strong communication skills, attention to detail, and prior medical rooms experience.

About the Role

This is a busy front-of-house position involving patient meet-and-greet, high-volume phone management, and coordination of patient flow. You will play an important role in supporting clinical operations and ensuring an exceptional patient experience. The role also involves referral triaging and providing backfill support within the bookings team when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcoming patients in a professional and friendly manner
• Managing a high volume of incoming calls and enquiries
• Processing and triaging referrals appropriately
• Coordinating appointments and patient bookings
• Providing administrative support across reception and bookings functions
• Backfilling bookings role duties as required
• Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring confidentiality
• Supporting smooth day-to-day clinic operations in a busy environment

About You

• Proven experience in a medical reception or specialist rooms environment
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to multitask, prioritise and remain calm under pressure
• Team-focused with a flexible and adaptable approach
• Experience in ophthalmology or specialist medical practice highly regarded
