The opportunity

Our client, a well-established national manufacturing organisation, is seeking a Dispatch Coordinator to join their operations team based in Cavan. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, supporting daily transport and despatch operations. Working closely with internal teams and transport providers, you'll play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and customer-focused despatch outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily despatch activities to meet delivery and service requirements
• Provide a high level of customer service to internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure fleet availability aligns with the daily delivery plan
• Liaise with sales, warehouse, and transport providers to manage urgent or critical requirements
• Manage driver movements and yard wait times to improve efficiency
• Conduct load checks and audits to ensure compliance with safety and load restraint standards
• Complete safety checklists and adhere to all health, safety, and legislative requirements
• Ensure all despatch documentation and administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time

About you

You are a proactive, organised, and customer-focused individual who thrives in an operationally driven environment. You're confident managing competing priorities and enjoy working autonomously while being part of a wider team.

You will also bring:

• Experience within despatch, transport, logistics, or yard operations
• Background as a Despatch Coordinator, Yard Coordinator, Leading Hand, or Supervisor
• Strong understanding of transport operations and load compliance
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong time management, prioritisation, and problem-solving abilities
